Hi, I'm Leigh.
I play, I string, and I don't recommend anything I haven't tested myself.
Racket Lab LDN started because I was tired of guessing what was actually in my racket. I string what I play — right now that's Yonex VCore 98s on Polytour Pro — and every string on the menu here has been through my own machine and my own matches before it goes on the shelf for you.
I play mostly on artificial clay around London, which changes how a lot of gear performs compared to the acrylic courts most advice online is written for — it's one of the things I factor in when you ask me to recommend a setup rather than just pick from a list.

Common questions
How long does a restring take?
Standard turnaround is 24–48 hours from drop-off. Same-day is often possible at Marylebone if you drop off in the morning — mention it when you book.
What string should I choose?
It depends on your game, your arm, and how often you play. Broad strokes: polys for control and spin (restring more often), multis for comfort and power, hybrids for a mix. If you're not sure, book the free Racket & String Consult and we'll pick together.
Can I supply my own string?
Yes — bring a full set (or your reel) with your racket and the labour-only price applies.
How often should I restring?
A useful rule: as many times per year as you play per week, at minimum. Poly strings lose tension and playability long before they snap — if it's been six months, it's due.
What tension should I ask for?
If you know your number, we'll string to it. If you don't, tell me what racket you play and what you want more of — control, power, comfort, spin — and I'll recommend a starting point and log it so we can adjust next time.
Do you do grip work and customisation?
Yes — lead tape, balance matching and grip builds under the Customisation Consult. Weight and balance are measured before and after, so you know exactly what changed.
