Booking a restring, start to finish
Exactly what happens between clicking "Book a restring" and getting your racket back — including what dropping off at Until in Marylebone actually looks like.
If you've never used a stringer outside a shop counter before, "drop off anytime at Until" can sound vaguer than it is. Here's exactly how it works, from booking to collection.
1. Book online
Head to the order page and build your restring: pick your string (or bring your own), your tension — or tell me to recommend one — and any add-ons like a grip or dampener. Add your racket details and a note if there's anything I should know. Choose Marylebone if you want anytime drop-off, or Raynes Park / Wimbledon if a weekly window suits you better.
Submit the form and you're booked. There's no payment at this stage — you pay on collection, card or cash.
2. What Until looks like
Until is where I'm based for stringing and content work in Marylebone — it's not a tennis shop, so don't expect a shopfront with rackets in the window. You're dropping a racket with a person who works from the space regularly, not leaving it at an unstaffed counter.
You'll get exact drop-off details and opening hours by email once you've booked, along with directions if you need them. If you're dropping off outside hours you've confirmed with me, message ahead — otherwise anytime during opening hours is genuinely fine.
3. It gets strung — one at a time
Every racket is strung individually on a professional machine, to the tension and string you booked. No batching, no shortcuts. Your string, gauge and tension are logged against your name — useful the next time you book, since we're not starting from scratch on what worked.
Turnaround is 24–48 hours. If you dropped off in the morning at Marylebone, same-day is often possible — mention it when you book and I'll do what I can.
4. Collect & pay
You'll get a message the moment your racket's ready. Collect it from the same drop-off point, pay on the day by card or cash, and you're back on court with a fresh bed.
